My 89-year-old mother, who is diabetic, suffered a fall and broke her hip. After spending two weeks in the hospital, she was transferred to Tice Valley Post Acute. We are very grateful for the excellent care she received there. After several weeks of physical therapy, she is now back on her feet and getting around with a walker. The staff was kind, attentive, and well-trained. Her room was cleaned regularly, and her diabetes was carefully managed throughout her stay. The nursing and medical team did a great job adjusting her pain medication to keep her comfortable while still allowing her to fully participate in mobility training. The physical therapy staff was especially patient and understanding. My mother wasn’t always eager to attend sessions at the scheduled time, but they consistently came back later and gently encouraged her to participate. The social worker was also incredibly helpful in coordinating her care and ensuring a smooth experience for our family.
Staff have been really great. Special shout out to Vlad, Koko, Megan.
Horrible place, family member was in hospice and they would act like he isn’t there. He had one request every single day to help with going number 1. No matter how many times he called they wouldn’t come. Only good thing is the nurse named Trisha I believe if that’s not correct let me know I will come and find out her name. She was an absolute godsend and was the only who cares and even talked to us after his passing. She would always be happy to help and cried with us and made us feel so comfortable. Besides her all the others were useless and were so fake. Don’t listen to this place and don’t think this is out of anger that I’m writing this. The family member had passed around 3-4 months ago and I’ve thought deeply before writing this. So if you love your family and want them to get the right care please don’t look here.

Lookup reviews for manorcare. Different owner same unethical practices. Check on your loved ones frequently and question every incident no matter how small.

I would like to thank the staff of Tice Valley, and I’d like to thank the CNAs, Nurses, Physical Therapy, and Occupational Therapy too for their support, encouragement, and skilled guidance. The entire staff here is excellent 👌 .

The staff could not have been nicer and more accommodating. Yes, it’s not a hotel but considering all the patients and all the work that has to be done they do a really good job. Physical therapy and occupational therapy were top-notch and management was very professional and accommodating.

I had the most magnificent experience that one can have in a skilled nursing facility. When I arrived I could barely move my legs and thought “I will never get through this pain!” But with my amazing OT/PT team they encouraged and coached me gently to bring out my fighting spirit. John would try to distract me into doing things I felt were impossible , but it worked and before you know it one foot was leading the other seamlessly without pain! Kurt would explain the intricacies of pain to me in a ‘nerdy’ intellectual way that I understood so I knew how my brain was working and could coach it to help my body. Shirley would look at me and say “you are walking like a robot! Scan your surroundings, look at me,” and when she pointed this out I corrected the behavior. The amazing Lindsey gave me obstacle courses and cooking classes to get me to improve my range of motion. She would make the activities fun but challenging moving me forward in my motions! Melissa would put me in group activities where I had to participate with others to improve my hand eye coordination! And last my therapist, Anuja, analyzed my weak foot and stubborn right leg to stretch my skills to make me flex my foot correctly. This is a remarkable team and many other whom Are too many to name supported me from head to toe to get me on my way back home safely, with love and kindness! I am forever grateful for their help!

I am trying to get my mother out after 1 night. I sent her there because of high ratings, and I was, showed at the condition of her room. The food is very poor quality, and it is very hard to reach the nurse at night. The furniture in the room looked like thrift store cast offs. The TV did not come in well , her chair was not good for her condition. Her roommate was in a noise ventilator. I am trying to move her ASAp!

This is an amazing facility! My husband has been in their care for the past few months. The care he has received has been impeccable. The staff is caring and considerate. I witnessed a patient in distress because her husband wasn’t there. A CNA came to console her . The CNA told the patient she had to clock out for her break. She returned to lady and sat with her until her husband arrived about 20 minutes later. This is just one example of the outstanding care the staff provides. Very clean facility, tasty meals, and provides many activities for patients. Heart felt gratitude to the entire staff!

My mom had an excellent experience at Tice Valley Post Acute. The facility is clean, the staff members are warm and caring and very good at what they do. My mom loved her nurses and CNAs. She received excellent therapies which helped her return home safely. We have been to other skilled nursing facilities, and this is by far the best experience we have had.

I own a service company which deals directly with more than 200 Skilled Nursing Facilities in the San Francisco Bay area. My mother had recently fallen and broken her hip, so she needed to stay at a skilled nursing facility to recover and rehab after the fall. I knew the ownership recently changed at Tice Valley Post acute, and I remember asking an employee I’ve known there for many years how is the work environment under the new owners. What was told to me was that one significant change was that the new owners increased the number of nursing hours during the night shift to improve quality of care, which to say the least, is rare. To keep this review short, I’ll just say this. I was pleasantly ‘shocked’ at how good the quality of care was. I visited my mother most days at all different times and 100% of the time the staff was attentive, sincerely invested in providing what appeared to me was the quality of care they would want for their own parents or loved ones, and I do not say this lightly. I was quite pleasantly surprised that this quality of care did not drop off at any point of her month long stay. I say this frankly because my mother can be….um…’difficult’ to deal with as a patient in a SNF, often non-compliant with requests from physical therapy staff, or not eating foods if they don’t match her unreasonably specific and restrictive requests. As a business owner myself, I did make it a point to communicate my impressions of the staff and care to “Ty” the administrator of the facility. So as you can see, I am not one to blow smoke, but rather I speak plainly as that is generally most helpful to other upper management officers or owners of businesses. Usually it is most helpful to inform them of the weak spots that can be improved, like employees who spend their time texting rather than working, or who have a bad attitude, etc. I was unable to find a single example of anything I directly witnessed during any visit that was negative to tell Ty. I could only share how impressed both myself and my Mother were at the consistent high quality of care. Nothing is perfect of course, but I give them a solid A+ grade here. If you look at my other reviews you can see that I do not pull punches when quality measures are unacceptable. Here are a few comments from my Mother about specific individuals she interacted with at Tice Valley Post Acute: Aides: John-especially noted for his gentleness the first day that I had arrived; and always willing to give me whatever I needed, a sandwich from the kitchen (me not eating the meal served on my tray); an extra blanket at change of shift time (ten thirty pm) had to wait for laundry to dry. Alice-Would always anticipate my needs and requests. Very high sense of nursing skills. High sense of humility. I was very blessed to have her as my aide. Jasmine-night shift aide. Brought joy with her entering my room. Very willing to change my brief if needed at 4:30 a.m. Therapists: Physical Shirley-sweet-steadfast in making me move forward for progress. She did let me go forward at my own pace when I needed rest. Eric-Encouraging as I progressed with my walking. Occupational Jane-very supportive, nonjudgmental when I was unable to coordinate my movements with a given task. Very appreciative of her letting me move forward at my request in my walking while tethered to her, instead of using a walker. To sum up. Because of my direct experience, I can whole-heartedly recommend Tice Valley Post Acute.

Outstanding. TVPA really has it all—accessible, communicative management; competent, softhearted nurses; warm, sociable environment; delicious, nutritious meals; spotless, organized facilities. I have a loved one at TVPA. Although we live many hours and hundreds of miles away from each other, I know there is no better place for him in the greater Walnut Creek area. I hope to live closer to him one day, but for now I am so grateful for each capable hand that tenderly cares for him at TVPA.

I have had two separate experiences at the facility, both under separate names. The first was adequate and served its purpose. This later experience also served its purpose but with a different feel, the most notable being its friendliness and “caring plus” Staff went out of their way to greet both patients and visitors-often by name; the sincere caring made a difference. There is a clean and positive feel to the placer. I believe that contributes to benefit recovering patients.KUDOS! AR 6/2024
